If he based his decision on a Bronze Age text then that decision is automatically suspect. Based on the Bible some people have concluded that the Earth is only 6,000 years old, which is obviously false because the Australian Aboriginal history goes back about 50,000 years. Also, I'll be over 100 years old then - I will probably have died before then. The only way to be sure about this is wait until 2061 - stay tuned. Newton was brilliant, but that doesn't mean he was right about everything.

Newton was involved in a lot of wacky mystical nonsense. It's not what we remember him for.
