The Scion has everything for a great price but the gas mileage isn't the greatest.

The Honda Civic will last a long time but it is way too expensive and I don't get as many feautures as the Scion. The great thing about the Honda Civic is the gas mileage and isurance ratings.

Overalll, what does everyone else believe?

Most of the car magazines love the Honda Fit and we all know the Civic is a great car. I'd take the Fit over the Civic for the hatchback usefulness, but in performance terms, the Civic would win, especially the Civic Si coupe. The Tc isn't bad and comes well equipped, so it's worth a look. I'd stay away from Yaris. Could be fun, but not nearly as much as the other cars listed. Yaris was designed for fuel economy only. Although at 2200 lbs, with a stick shift, it could be a fun thing to commute in. It's more fun to drive a slow car fast then a fast car slow. But driving a fast car fast is a blast! Have fun, stick to the Civic or Fit and the Tc

Honda has one of the best resale value and is really reliable.
My civic has 165000 miles and it still running good. Scion is a nice car and is cheaper but their resale value is horrible and they have only been around for like 4 years so their long term reliability is questionable.

Just put it like this "cheap is expensive" the scion is cheaper now but with resale value and problems that you may have with the car it will be more expensive. Get the Honda
the offer 3 different trims Ex is a little up there but the Lx is not that bad.

You should definitely get a Scion TC instead of a Honda Civic. Scion is 100% better than Honda.

I don't know what gave the insurance company's trouble with the SCION TC. Probably teen age drivers wrecking cars. Check what the insurance costs are I bet you get a Honda. The Honda Civic 4 door sure has grown to a mid size car.

My suggestion for u is that, do u believe toyota camry for running long enough as compaired to the Honda Civic?
if u say yes, the Scion tC has the same engine as offered by Toyota Camry, so i believe that tC would run long enough and that car is alot cheaper too and they give u alot of standard features too like sunroof, cruse control, a jack for mp3s and one for ipods, Mirror turning signal. Another thing about the looks of Scion tC compared to Honda Civic. Civic is not that attractive to people but tC looks like alot more expensive car, with BMW style headlights and Mercedes-benz syle mirrors. as u talked about the insurance rating, the new tC have more safty features, so rating might be better. So if i were u i would for sure go for tC!!!!!!
so good luck for ur new car!!

i'd say if you want to stand out a lil more, get the scion tC....too many people have civics and they are over played...but the civic does have alot going for it, so that is why they run rampant on our streets...i'm a scion/toyota/lexus guy myself, so i would say go with scion...but there is nothing wrong with either one and are both excellent choices of cars.

Both are common cars. I looked at both over two years ago when buying (so it was the older model civic). I'd go with the tC, b/c I have one...and because it's a better value overall.

You CANNOT beat the panoramic moonroof for this price.

I doubt either will hold their value for a long time...I'd buy a Ford Pinto, they're collector cars now, and will be worth way more than an old Scion or Civic. :)
