morning and it is brownish in color. it usually starts as bright red. I guess it'll wait and see if the color changes later today or tomorrow. what do you guys think.

It came late, which means you may have had old blood and that comes out first. By now it should be getting redder. This happens all the time. Don't worry. :)

dont worry about it, not everyone one has a set schedule when it comes to their period. Some ppl can set their clocks by them and others is a shot in the dark.
About the color, menstral blood is actually brown in color but because you bleed soo much it looks red when its heavy. (I had a doc tell me this.) It might even be brown towards the end of your cyle. So again don't worry about it.

its brown usually when theres dried blood. ive had my period for about 2 years now and its usually bright red in the beginning. when i first started off my period though, it was brownish/red

bright red blood red means is fresh, brownish means that its older. I wouldnt worry about the color.
