The Flamingo is a good strip property. It's also in a prime location to get to any other strip properties. You can walk across the street to Bally's and take the free tram down to the MGM which brings you within walking distance of the Luxor, Mandalay Bay, New York New York among many others.

the flamingo was the first hotel built on the strip. it was built by bugsy seigal the mobster. it is an average hotel with an outstanding location. if you can get a good rate...around $100 per night or less...then stay at this place also the hotel's pool is second only to the pool at the mandalay bay...

It is a nice hotel. Not a hotel that is going to "WOW" you, but you will not be disappointed. I have only stayed there once, for 4 nights, but I really enjoyed it. Make sure you go to the botanical garden they have inside, it's really nice. Great hotel for the money.
The hotel is directly across the street from Caesars palace, Mirage, and adjacent to Bellagio. I can't think of a better location to be in.

It is decent. My last three trips I stayed at either the Orleans(off strip) or Hooters, which is obviously geared towards men. Mid week will get you the best rates. I would also recommend checking out packages on the Southwest Air website.
