President is head of state of Indian republic and wields powers of supreme commander of armed forces yet interestingly he is merely a rubber stamp and cannot do much to uplift the country.

We r a democratic country.. and sine we did not elect the president ..he shouldnt be given any BIG power as such when compared to the ppl we elect.. or bttr yet rite to the government and ask them to change our constitution to the likes of the American goons!

No, the post of Indian President is a form of punishment. It has no power, not status and in fact is humiliating to be President of such a country.
