Blue smoke on start up is usually a sign of valve guide wear. Oil pressure fluctuation may be weight of oil. Try using a heavier oil such as 20-50 or even 30 weight. If that doesn't help check with mechanical gage to make sure it's not just the sending unit. If it's still doing it , check the spec's for oil pressure at idle. It's usually pretty low for a small block,6-8 psi.

No big deal on each of your problems. The first thing to address is the oil guage thing. I am assuming you are driving around with a full charge of clean motor oil in the pan. Sucking air can cause this and damage the motor. Usually it is not a mechanical problem, just a poor sensor assembly so just replace it. If you want to check it before buying parts, install an oil pressure guage into the sensor hole and check the idle pressure, should be at least 15psi. If that's okay, the motor is okay. You can now open and ground the guage part of the circuit and inspect the guages reaction. Typically it will be low and the other high. The other problem is usually just poor valve seals which would have to be replaced. This is a fairly involved job, but it is not too difficult if you know your way around motors. While you are doing the valve seals, check to be sure the valve guides are not worn out as this can cause this as well. If you have worn valve guides, cylinder head removal and overhaul is what will be required. Good luck.

try pulling the valve covers off and find the oil return holes at each end of the heads.Get a metal clothes hanger and push it through the holes to clean them out.(almost 3/4 of the hanger will go in the engine and you wont hurt a thing) On chevys the valve seals dry up and break and the get lodged in the return hole and plug them up causing the oil to sit in the heads and not run down back in the oil pan causing low oil that the pump cant reach. If you clean the holes your oil pressure shoud go back to normal but the smoke may stay cuz the seals are shot but it will run a long time like that, just keep an eye on the oil.

The smoke if your valve seals need to be replaced, 305's were famous for wearing out fast..... your doing good yours is still running.
