If you are interested in buying a car, but feel as though you simply do not have the money, a government car auction might be the best opportunity for you.
There are there kinds of car auctions:
Dealer only auctions --- only licensed dealers are allowed to buy or sell cars,You can not get in or bid without being a licensed car dealer or an employee.
Public auctions --- the public is allowed in.In fact, you usually cant by anything from public 'open' auctions because usually the pricing is too high.
Government and Police auctions --- Every day, the government confiscates, seizes and repossesses thousands of Vehicles. These vehicles are usually typically listed at 90% OFF their original value and auctions usually start at $100.

Four months ago,I bouht a near new SUV from online government auction. It only cost me $730 and i have not had one problem with it yet .
You can check out http://seized-car-auction.info ,That site lists top 5 Police auction sites and help you choose the best one.
Good luck!

If you don't intend to keep the car very long, don't buy brand new. If you buy used, have it inspected by a mechanic that you trust before committing. Find out if it has been wrecked. Get the VIN and run a CarFax check once you have found one that you like (this isn't free but for about $30 you can run as many checks as you want for 30 days).

Also check the "Consumer Reports" ratings for both new & used cars. The 2007 Buying Guide lists reliable used cars by price (pp.191-3)and also has a list of used cars to avoid (pp.194-5). Detailed reliability charts for each model and year (8 yrs are covered through 2005) begin on p.196. The CR "Buying Guide" is available at most public libraries or you may find one on a news stand.
And, if you can, pay cash.

I would advise you to buy car at a car auction. I always buy cars from Repokar Public Auto Auction - this is the best way of advertising your vehicle. They offer multiple opportunities to buy cars very fast and easy.

By posting the question in the Cars area.

But unless you're a skilled mechanic, forget repos, seizures, and auctions.
