Regardless of carpentry, Jesus was more liberal than conservative, I think. Talked a lot about giving to the less fortunate (social programs). Maybe progressive would be a better word, here, than liberal. He didn't necessarily want to start a new religion, rather, he wanted to reform Judaism. He spoke against war and violence, capitalism, etc.

Helping the needy the poor, the neglected, the sick, and the forsaken this is what JESUS stood for. Now we know that a Republican thinks that spending money and time on these issues is wrong. So I would have to say that the democratic party is more in tune with JESUS.

It would be hard to say since politics wasn't something that the people were keenly aware of back in the days of Jesus. For the most part most places were run as monarchies or dictatorships. Since he preached the word of his father to all that were interested in Christianity and he was a carpenter. I would say he would lean more toward being a liberal, rather than a conservative. That's my point of view.

Look everyone of normal intelligence did some kind of profession, or work, or study.
He was an Essene Jew, HE WHITLED WHILE HE PROPHESISED, and his listeners sat around and listened to his wisdom while carpentering. Essene Jews were married at a young age, early 20's, so he probably had offsprings, if so they may have been carpentering too, it was a well needed job especially in 'those days'.

For what i know, he had a rather liberal mind but also defended tradition. This is the way it should be.
I don't think a man like that can be a Democrat or a Republican.

No.... He was not political... but if he were he would be Republican... He was an independent business man and wouldn't like the draconian taxation that Democrats will impose on small business. The "Render unto Cesar" doesn't mean selling your soul to government.

Please. The housing market has been gold. Why would a carpenter want to mess that up with anything but capitalism?
And guy above me that is just incredible that Muslims would go to such great lengths to deny the deity of a child born of a virgin. Probably had more to do with their refusal to grant humanity to a mere woman.
