well the Yankees have done better with out giambi around in the lineup but i think the Yankees are concentrating on wining games and giambi should concentrate on what he needs to do

It seems each season, there are no shortage of potential distractions for the Yankees:

Giambi. Will Torre be fired? Jeter and Arod: BFF or Sworn Enemies? Randy Johnson. Roger Clemens. Roger Clemens...again.

The list goes on and on. In my opinion, Giambi is the least of their current headaches. Instead, they need to focus on the fact they overpaid for a guy who WAS the most dominant pitcher of his generation but IS now showing serious signs of age. They need to do more to capitalize on the fact that Arod who, as you may recall, was heavily criticized last season for less than great numbers and an embarrassing post season performance finally woke up and realized, 'Hey...I'm AROD! I can belt dingers in my sleep!'

This is not the first we've heard of the potential Giambi punishment. And it won't likely be the last. But in a town where nothing short of a championship is expected each season, other factors are currently taking precedent within the organization despite what the headlines may suggest.

Good question.
But they would have gotten rid of him before. They seem to like his antics. Maybe he can take the distraction off the losing. Who knows.
George has a method to his madness at this team.

You mean poor Jason?? They took back Clemens, so why not keep their baby Giambi. Typical of Yankee poor judgment.

Chow!!

They should just dump him, although they seem 2 be doing alright now. Until they get rid of him, they will never rid themselves of his distraction.

The team could just release him.

The notion of ANYTHING costing the Yankees "too much money" is laughable.

the yankees always have distractions ,I think jason would do well to cut his ties with new york and head back to the west coast,to the oakland a's if they would have him.
