The BATTERY indicator light comes on when the Alternator has an open circuit. Replace the Alternator.

sound like the alternator is not up to par. the diode stator bridge is built into the alternator and regulates the voltage.
at idle your alternator should be producing about 60-100 amps depending on the system load. yours is not and that is why your battery is draining cause its not getting a good charge and its getting starved. i'd bet ya dollars to pecos that a new alternator will fix it.

THE REGULATOR IS IN THE ALTERNATOR.
YOU SHOULD GET THE VEHICLES COMPUTER SCANNED AND CHECK FOR ANY PROBLEMS AS WELL AS CODES AND THEN YOU WILL HAVE A GOOD IDEA ON WHAT THE PROBLEM TRULY IS.
TRY FINDING AN INDEPENDENT SHOP INSTEAD OF THE DEALER OR A CHAIN STORE BECAUSE YOU WILL BE OVERALL MORE PLEASED WITH THE FINDINGS AND THE SERVICE.
