Well, it depends on how much space you have... How big your baby is, and if you want to take it places.? We were space challenged so we got a fold up travel swing.. which was nice, we could take it other places...Or store it in a closet. For the most part a swing is a swing...See if you can borrow one from someone that doesn't need theirs anymore...Save some $$$$. Or go to a baby resale-- Hope that helps ...

Hi i have got the Fisher Price Rainforest Cradle Swing for my twins. They have one each and they both love it so much. Also the batteries do last a long time. Its £99.99 each but i think they are well worth the money. Hope this helps x

They do have a swing that runs on electricity. Personally, I got an evenlo baby swing and it was great when my son was a newborn. We got a lot more use out of the bouncy seat.

I have the fisher price rainforest swing. My daughter LOVES it. It cool because it swings both side to side and front to back and it plugs into the wall so you don't have to keep replacing the batteries. Very nice.

i like those papasan swings.... they rock back to front or you can make it swing left to right.........the one im getting has a sheer thing that covers the back half and it will reflect stars on the material and play music and there are some toys connected to a little tray that you can either have on it or take off....it looks really comfy and relaxing for a newborn but fun for a bigger baby as well..............you can get it at babies r us!
it's the strarlight papasan from fisher price

i like the look of the ocean wonders one. unfortunantly, my son hated his swing and i ended up borrowing a bouncer from a friend whos son had outgrown it becuase he loved it at her house. dont spend a ton of money is my point because they may hate that toy and then your out of luck. all babies are different in what they enjoy (bouncers, swings, massaging chairs, walkers, etc.)

I love the Graco one. Just do not buy the Eddie Bauer swing - it is a piece of junk.

Ours rotated 3-different directions, it rocked! I think it was Fisher Price.
