When you make partition you loose some space for partitioning. YOu might have made some mistake while partitioning. Better delete partition and let there be single partition, using DM

If your hard disk is 6 GB You would get a formatted capacity of 5.7 GB or so.

Becuase hard disk manufacturers take 1000 Kb = 1 Mb and 1000 Mb = 1 Gb.

Where as windows take 1024 Kb = 1 Mb and 1024 Mb = 1 Gb.

You can try to resue DM. and recreate the partitions. You would get capacity below 6 GB.

Then still if you get 3 GB get back to me with some details on what you did and i will try to help you out.

that seems high quality, if partitioning your difficult stress for each different objective is that major to you. Assuming you're in elementary words going to be gaming in residing house windows, i'd propose in elementary words 2 walls. One for residing house windows, one for Linux. you'd be wanting to be delicate with fdisk or Partition Magic (or similar application). Linux will be able to get good of entry to the different walls, thoroughly bypassing any permissions you've gotten assigned, so get good of entry to to archives/Media will nevertheless be a probability. it is been a lengthy time period because that i have set up a twin-boot device and my in elementary words journey with Linux is with Knoppix. desire this facilitates.
