I see my street.. The old Studebaker factory across from my house...4 cars (Ford Explorer, Ford Ranger, Honda Civic and a Dodge Caravan). I also see a squirrel, a sewer grate, 4 Maple trees, and a Dr.Pepper bottle that someone littered on my lawn overnight. (I live on a corner and MAD people unfortunately litter on my grass)

I can see the garden with trees, flowers, birds and wildlife. When I want to travel I can walk 5 minutes to a bus stop with several bus services at 15 minute intervals, or to a rail station with services every half hour. If I remember rightly, you have few buses in Lyme Regis. I remember having to get a taxi from Axminster. The rail station closed years ago.
Nevertheless, I agree you are in a scenic part of Britain. I well remember my holiday at Lyme Regis. The food wasn't at all good. It transpired at the end of my week's stay that the hotel manager had sacked the cook, and was insisting that he must work his notice.
I hope your stay is more enjoyable.

I am sitting on an upstairs porch looking over a small, messy, but green, back yard, with the computer in my lap.

I'm in Dorset. I can see my street - houses etc, but if I go upstairs I can see the sea. I'm on the Jurassic coast as well.
