I know no one can really say how they're going to die unless you're strapped to a dodgy belt in a Baghdad market, but how would you go if you had the choice?

Just like my Dad..who I'm thinking about right now given the day....he had a meal, had a shower, sat in his favourite chair after a few minutes he said to my Mum..." That's enough for now " and fell asleep never to wake again...lovely way to go think

Slowly or quickly. Well, now everyone's saying quickly, but if it happens too fast, you won't even know it was ever there. You can't experience everything in life, if you don't experience death. But anyway, either way I go, I want my funeral to be held on the back of a cruise ship, like people do their weddings, but for me, a funeral, then I'd be carried off the ship, on a beir of course, then have the procession lead to a taxedermist, where I'm stuffed like a bear on it's hind legs, growling, then be left in the cemetary as my own head stone. That way, everyone could just see me instead of reading my name, and it would save the workers from having to dig my hole then fill it back up. Maybe I'd have an umbrella in one hand for when it rains. After all, a soggy corpse is a sad corpse! Then, eventually, I guess I'd decompose from being weathered like a moldy carpet. But everyone's gotta go at some point. And whereas all of the other bodies are being crushed and eaten in their caskets, everyone will be able to see my stages. Then, once I'm all eaten, my molocules can return to the earth to be reformed into something else, hopefully more happy and honest than a human. Maybe, a sponge, they have life pretty nice.

Once I get too old to wipe my own ar$e I would like to purchase a very fine motor bike say a Harley, say farewell to my family ride to top the top of a volcano,, or a helicopter taking my bike with me then simply riding off the top into the active volcano then job done.

What a way to go.

Of course this may change as I get older

I really don't want to jinx myself,
but isn't it natural for most "mentally stable" people
to want to have a happy life and die in the most
humane way possible?
I want to die a happy human, I want to grow old
gracefully and then have a peaceful, calm, non painful, quick
death.
If I was to die slowely, my family or friends would possibly have to watch that and live knowing that. I couldn't do that to them!
Also, they'll be on the edge of their seats "Will she? Won't she?" I'll just want them to be out of their misery. Then continue to live their lives happily.

thanks
take care

If I were in pain, I would opt for a fast dying, but if I were in a clear mind and dying of old age, I would want it to go at a leisurely pace--to savor the last glimmers of life and to gather loved ones and friends around me.

I would prefer to die quickly. I hate pain and suffering, altough i like the idea about dying after skydiving without a parachute...;-)

I wanna die quickly like getting shot to the head (I hope that doesn't happen to me) over being burned alive

Have you ever seen the movie the deep blue? With the two guys who have a passion for deep diving without diving gear?

Although it seems quite scary to me, they seemed happy with it: doing what they absolutely loved. The sort of thing they would talk about on your funeral: at least she / he died dong what he / she liked best.

SLOW .... the pain is temporary .... But to give the chance to those I love the chance to visit and reminisce on the good times we shared would be keeping on giving til the last.
