a 2007 cobalt....especially if it was my fault.....also how much would come out of my pocket... thanks!

The only way a brand new car with "Little Damage" is if the entire interior is stripped or the vehicle has been submerged, otherwise it will be repaired.
It all depends on your collision deductible is as to what it will cost you. May be cheaper to pay for the repairs, depending on how your insurance coverage is structured.

Not if it is really barely damaged.

It may not look too bad on the outside bodywork, but the engine or the chassis may be seriously damaged.

I had a 2 year old car written off after I had driven it into a ditch. The bodywork was fine, but I had wrecked the suspension and cracked the chassis.

the simple answer is NO & YES......a car is only written off if it is beyond economical repair...as the car is a 2007 model....could be down to needing new shell ect..as some stress points can not be repaired to the right standard...as new...
