Firing metal clay requires a kiln to be fired up to 1600 degrees F (871 degrees C) in order for the clay to turn into metal. I wonder can I use the oven that I used to bake cake to do the firing job...

No way, that will not go above 300 C, so not a third of what you need.
If you want to fire clay and can not get a kiln, there is the old trick of putting it in a heap of wood shavings, cover those by wood and fire that (outside and only when and where it is save to have bonfires) and hope for the best.

But a real kiln, with high enough temp is the only sure way to go. Sometimes you can use those at community collages, high schools or small scale potteries for a charge.

If you're talking about the type of "metal clay" called Precious Metal Clay, or Art Clay Silver, you can fire some of the types they make with a propane torch (and possibly even on a stovetop) using certain techniques. But you defintely can't use a home oven, as far as I know.

(You can cure regular *polymer clays* in a home oven though, at fairly low temp, adding silver-colored powders or other things before or after baking to create convincing"faux metal.")

If you want more info on the torch techniques, etc, and the types of "clay" they may work for, as well as a small kiln that you could buy for that temp, check out this page:

Nope. The only way you can fire stuff at home is Raku. Basically it's a giant firepit.
