I have 2 SATA hard drives both 400GB one 8mb one 16mb. The computer has never been perfect.
When I search for the drives in BIOS it only detects one of them. What does this mean? Is it related to the errors in event viewer?
I can use both hard drives fine because windows detects both but BIOS doesn't.
Lately the screen goes black for a second whenever I open internet explorer. I was told I didnt have to adjust jumper settings on SATA drives so why is the second drive not detected? Is it something to do with RAID?

Very possibly it has to do with RAID. If RAID is set up for a Mirror (RAID 1), you shouldnt be able to see the second drive in windows because its being used basically as a backup of the first drive. If it is set up as Stripe (RAID-0), its possible it won't show up in the bios, but windows will see it.

This is my first time researching RAID, so I could be wrong. But I would first look into your RAID settings, and if you can, plug your second drive (the one your bios doesnt see) into the 3'rd SATA port on the MB if it has one.

f you do have a raid setup then the disks should be identical. I presume when you refer to 8mb and 16mb you are stating the amount of cache each hard drive has. So there is a small disparity there.

You didn't mention what the errors were in Event Viewer but you will need to visit Microsoft's site via the link to see how you can solve these problems.

The Internet Explorer problem is not related to the disk problem and I have not heard of this problem before. Possibly Event Viewer has an entry and therefore you need to follow Microsoft's advice on how to fix it.

Oh Popcorn Queen .... Who loves you more than me? Heaps ??? Love is unconditional as is friendship. You can love someone or even something like a car heaps, tons, alot, what ever. While not following through on your feelings. However it is the friendship and base person behind the friendship that matters. It is the follow through that matters the most. Heaps .... Sounds like a guarded response with less commitment, however someone could be a friend and say I don't really even like you and then be the one true friend that comes through for you when you need it the most. It is so hard to say!!! Want to know what heaps is? Ask the source!!!
