if you gonna answer an artist name, please explain why you think they are the best rapper currently right now.
right now, i think lil wayne is the best rapper, because he can come out with flows from the top of his head while he raps, which is why he does so many freestyles. and the fact that he doesnt come out with any stupid rhymes on a freestyle like most rappers do is remarkable. rappers like jay-z, t.i., youngbloodz and all are good, but only because they spend their time in the stupio editing their lyrics to make them better and official as a track on their album. Lil wayne just spit from the top of his head and do just as good as their edited lyrics, sometimes even better! and thats why i think lil wayne is one of the best rappers alive. so who do you think is the best rapper alive? and tell me why. also if you like, who is your favorite artist? mines E-40, KRS-One, iCE Cube just to name a few.

also, if 50 cent and eminem is your favorite artist, thats ok i guess but they sure are not the best rapper alive. you must be crazy 50 and eminem dont got nothing on top of all these other artist and rappers. if you know rap you know 50 cent isnt rap. sorry to say.

Nas sucks!!!Nas is not original at all, he takes a little bit of his style from different old school rappers to make his.First one I would say is Jay Z, because if you know his life story ...were he came from...you would have to give him his props!!! He took his career to a whole another level and still making hits. Yeah ,yeah I know he edits his lyrics , but it just shows that he knows how to play the game and survive...that's "big pimpin". Snoop Dogg is another cause of his real way of telling things.

Lil Wayne doesn't write his own Material, ever hear of Gille the Kidd??? Best rapper alive will probably be Scarface. Yall keep lseeping on my man Face. His flow is just the truth, people just dont fell him as much because he doesn't speak about everythign that everyone else raps about the material things and he isn't main stream. Face never went through a period when his music wasn't on point. Lil Wayne's first album was just o.k. nothing that will go down in history as 'Oh I have to find The Block is Hot album it is so good.' Most rappers don't have a carrer where every album is on point. All of Scarface albums you could play straight throught with out skipping or anything. Example; Jay-Z put out 1 tight album which was his first and then all the ones in between were ok nothing to exciting. Both of the 50's where tight but I dont know how long that will last. Snoop put out 1 good album Doggystyle and then put out all bull$h!t until Blue Carpet Treatment. Don't forget before Lil Wayne was rappin about guns and drugs he was singing and dancing to 'Wobbly Wobbly Drop its Like its Hot'. But if Big L and Pac were still alive then it would have to go to one of them.

Still living? I'd say the title goes to Aftermath records hands down. Dr. Dre being a classic pionner in the field of rap. His lyrics are so smooth and paint a perfect picture of what he is trying to say. His beats are awesome as well. Eminem and even 50 cent are 2 of the best rappers alive in my opinion. There lyrics flow perfectly and make perfect sense. That is what makes a good rapper in my eyes. I've heard so many rap songs from these new rappers and they are horrible, they just rhyme words together and don't make any sense at all. Em and 50, they're lyrics make sense, it's like a story that all makes perfect sense if you slow down and listen to each word. Outside of Aftermath I'd probably say Nas is the best.

Edit-- I completely disagree man.. The people you have mentioned are so much more horrible than 50 cent. A) They are not and never were true gangsters though they act like it, 50 was. B) 90% of their songs make no sense at all, sure they have a smooth line here and there but the majority of it is just rhymes that don't tell a story.

i'd say the best rapper alive is Nas because his style resembles that of tupac, his ablility to tell stories in his music that others can relate to
but I do agree with what J-Will said..How can you be a real rap fan and say lil wayne is the best rapper alive? He doesnt have any classics like the greats do..Alot of his freestyles are pre-rehearsed, you think somebody raps for 6-7 minutes straight? No, when they stop they then put in their head what they're gonna say next, so its not like its literally coming off the top of his head

It depends what you like and where you are from.
Some are beast on the mic but can not make a good song. Kids today don't know nothing about music and listen to all that snapin s**t. And it is mostly white people buying cds now.

I've never had a true fan of the Rap game tell me their favorite rapper is Lil Wayne. What a joke. And how can you say that Eminem has nothin on the other artists being listed? His first two albums (especially the MMLP) were amazing. WTF has Lil Wayne put out that can even be considered in the same sentence as the MMLP? Please don't try and pretend like you know rap.

By the way, Eminem kills Lil Wayne in a freestyle battle. I don't know where you are gettin all that garbage about Lil Wayne freestyling off the top of his head. You honestly think he doesn't edit his songs in the studio??
