Call an air-con specialist. They will know where to put it and how much it takes.
Last time I had my car air-con regassed it cost me UK£50 and that included him visiting me.
Daniel (below): Freon isn't anti-freeze! Freon is what makes your air-conditioning work.

Check your car owner's manual. Newer cars use R134a. Old cars may still use R-12. Only R134a can be purchased in auto parts stores. There should be a decal in your engine compartment that specifies the type of refrigerant, usually located on the passenger side. Follow the fatter aluminum A/C line from the evaporator coil housing on the passenger side firewall and you should come to the low pressure "suction" filler port valve which may be labeled "R134a".

R134A the specific amount is listed on a decal on the passengers side of the radiator core support [i believe it was only about 18 or20 ounces] these systems are very easy to overcharge[ with disastrous results] the high side pressure should not exceed 215 psi.
with a warm engine at idle on a 80 degree F. day
wear eye protection and only add to the low pressure [cold] side of system. typical low side pressures should be between 25 -38 psi. good luck and work safe

Do yourself a favor and take it to an a/c shop. You can do serious damage if you don't know what you are doing.

a parts store should help you. i beleive its a red color instead of green. you can top it off with water if its not very low. it shouldn't take more than a gallon.
