What? The US went to war with Iraq, after the invasion, the Iraqi people where given a chance to form a decomcratic government. Instead of doing that, the Sunnis refused to acknowledge the fact that they no longer have sole control of a country where they are a minority. They chose the path of terrorism and attacked the government of their own country. The Shiites responded in kind with the result we all see today. The only group of people who have kept out of this free for all are the Kurds and the Assyrians. If the Sunnis and Shiites ack more like civilized humans instead of crazed zealots, then maybe we would have peace.

I think deBaathification was kind of undemocratic move. Basically kicking out every former Baath party members out of gov which in turn helped to raise tensions between Sunni and Shiite.

I can kind of see why. Kicking out Saddam's old political party, but we're there to unite people and I think deBaathification was very much the opposite.

I think this anti Baath party policy was reversed recently, but I'm not sure.

It is a good thing they behaved in a undemocratic manner because the US is a Republic not a Democracy.
