Pratibha Patil it going to win and that is already confirmed as she already has the majority of votes on her side from the UPA and also from political parties like the BSP. Even the Shiv Sena party is more or less likely to support her presidential candidature since she is of maharashtrian origin which will be a huge embarassment for the BJP especially since the shiv sena is a constituent of the NDA.
On a another note, it was shocking to see that sushma swaraj who is a political leader at the national level made a statement to the electronic media yesterday saying that pratibha patil ( who is a woman like sushma swaraj herself) is not a natural choice for the post of presidency in india. This is shocking because people till now, looked at sushma swaraj as one of the role models for women to progress in india. She has truly shamed herself and the nation with that remark.

Left parties forced Congress to change Presidential nominee. Now the Congress hails the nomination of Prathiba Patil as a historical one as they expect her to follow Sonia's diktat. Left parties are happy to have weak President so that they can blackmail the ruling Congress. I am sure Bhairon Singh Sekhawat will win.

The Vice-President Mr.Shekawat is supported by BJP, and say a two third of "third alliance". May be cross voting on both side may be even for both the candidates. We may expect around 4 lakhs votes, if 'third alliance' fully supports him.
Rajasthan Governor Mrs .Patel seems to have the support of more number of political parties headed by Cong,Left and other UNA ,apart from that BSP and other parties. She may get around 5.6 lakhs votes.
However, there is much time in between. We will wait for things to happen

bhairon singh shekawat..
reasons
1.NDA supports him
2.third front comprising of 9 state parties like SP,AIADMK,TDP have said that they would not support any man/woman nominated by congress.
3.We cant have the same ruling party person in both the offices as puppets of the congress party..there must atleast be someone brave enough to oppose the central govt LIKE HIS EXCELLENCY PRES.KALAM

but 'fate favours the prepared"..may the best man/woman win...
