hi, I am planing a trip to vegas this july 1st-3rd, How is the traffic right now by the consruction??
Last time i was there a saw a road in the right side (coming from Vegas) of the 15. Is this road goes to barstow?? might I avoid the traffic ??
any suggestion??

There are alternates routes but they all add at least 100 miles or more to the trip so you are better off just dealing with the traffic. Interstate 40 at Barstow splits off southeast toward Arizona heading away from Vegas. You can then jump on the 95 north and come back into vegas on that route but again I don't recommend it. It will add 2 - 3 hours to your trip. Best bet is to leave L.A. around midnight and head north to the 210 east, then 15 north all the way and it shouldn't be too bad. Construction is mostly complete with some short strips going down to 1 lane. But this won't affect traffic too much.

I drove it about 3 weeks ago, on a weekend and there were no problems with traffic at least no bumper to bumper traffic going and coming back. I am not sure where you saw the road coming to Vegas, but there is no alternative road to Barstow, you are stuck using the 15, I have researched many alternative routes, and the the 15 is the only logical choice. Since you are leaving on a Sunday, and coming back on Wednesday, you probably wont have any delays especially if you are driving during the daytime hours.

Yes,
the Mag-Lev train they have been talking about for years but have not gotten around to starting construction yet. A one hour high-speed train ride between L.A. and Las Vegas would reduce so much congestion on I-15. How about it Californians? Help to make it a reality.

My last trip was in middle of May.
TO San Bernandino from LV and back.
No construction right now. Made it back home to Las Vegas in three hours. One of the best times ever on this ride.
