The ring was scarier and better. The grudge didnt make sence. Howver, you should just watch scray movie 3 and 4 - they bag out both movies pretty good.

i think overall the grudge is scarier, it makes be get goose bumps just thinkin about it , the ring is scary while watching it but the grudge has a longer effect on you

even though neither one was scary, the ring was better. The grudge was just plain lame. I even fell asleep at the theater LOL

Got to be the Grudge...watched it at the cinema and got so scared wanted to leave, but was too scared to leave by myself and didn't want to wait in the empty foyer for my friend to watch the rest of the film!!!

Those films (particularly the American versions) are so blatant and ridiculous that I could never be scared by them...
The Descent is very creepy if you like Sci-Horror...
And I couldn't even finish Wolf Creek it was so scary to me...
Any movie that lets you get to really know and like the characters before they get bumped off is much scarier.
Those special effects movies are just silly and plotless though - the worst one was that one based on the video game where the woman tries to find her daughter in the abandoned religious city... that was soooo lame. I wanted that mom to die faster.
