are you happy for them or envious? or are you one of them?

my old best friend seems 100% content with her life, and it makes me feel a bit sad that it doesn't include me.. (we havent had a fight, just drifted apart)

I don't believe that any person could be 100% content, maybe a person could have all what s/he needs or wants but still, a bad hair day could make him/her as miserable as a person starving in Africa. Also i know people who always show a smile on their faces but actually this smile is there to hide some weakness or disappointment. BTW, there is, most probably, some other person thinking about you right now being 100% content and is very jealous of you.
envious?? without a doubt
but sometimes i pity them coz i sometimes feel that they aren't taking life as serious as it should be taken

The same thing happened between a friend of mine and I. Over the past 10 years I moved out on my own, finished a master's degree, got married and had a son. She dropped out of college and still lives with her parents at 31 and has pretty much let herself go.

We lost touch because every time we would talk or hang out she would complain about how I somehow "left her behind." I miss having her in my life, but don't feel like I am guilty of anything for pursuing my own dreams.

Don't be sad because you feel that you aren't included in her life. Just try and be happy for her and work towards your own goals.

People tend to drift apart, if you are busy pursuing your own interests, you will probably meet new friends that will make you happy to be around. :)

I understand what your saying. I have a few friends like that. If they dont want to include you then they were never your friend to begin w/ a friend always makes time for there true friends. Get some new friends. Might not be easy. I went through the same thing you are. And no im not 100 percent happy w/ my life. I basically work to pay bills. Cant have any fun.

Ever been called a snob? Geesh...that's the worst feeling. People always say I look happy all the time. But it's not true. After awhile, boredom sets in and I become anxious and later very depressed.

My friends call me hakuuna mattada because I take life as it comes and rarely get upset over it....I think it's better this way, less heart attacks and the world is still fun:o)

If you want you can hang with me I'm going to a rodeo next week!!! (I don't have any cowdude stuff though so I'll stand out a bit)

Happy for them. Why be envious? That's a negative emotion. Happy people are the ones who decided to let go of their envy of other people who are even happier than they are. If you let go of envy and resentment, you will be a happy person, too.

I'm actually happy for them and hope that one day I can be happy too. If you knew me, that's weird for me to say. But depending on the person, I wonder if it's all for show
