It is very interesting, but i am beginning to view things a little differently these days.
I no longer the two-state solution is either fair or reasonable, not to say ethical or legal.
Why should be divide a piece of land on a religious basis? Haven't we as humans, at least the civilized parts of us, evolved and devloped beyond this? We seperate religion and state (and are better off for it) but then think it is ok to have Jewish state and an Arab state. Why is that?
I firmly believe now that there should be one state in which everyone has equal rights. I don't think anything else is right.

ha ha, OK Mark

what ever you have to say as long as the Palestinians are not at fault.

As for what I just read about De Soto I would have to agree. I think US meddling in the Israel/Palestine issue has made the situation worse.

This is a Israel is a regional issue that needs to be solved between Israel and the Arab world. The West has only made the Middle East worse though artificial borders and economic/and political manipulation.

The fighting in Gaza is planed by Israel and the Israeli lobby in the USA.
Do you remember what the late Sharon said about the goals of Gaza withdrawal in a debate in the Israeli Parliament. Gaza will be a civil war zone after the Israeli withdrawal. Most know that fact but some are living on propaganda only for years. Palestine has the right to exist too.

Gratvol---does "not meddling" in the affairs of Palestine and Israel mean that the US should put a stop to the $4 billion in military welfare Americans send Israel every year?
Hey, as an American taxpayer, I'm all for that. We'll see if Israel will sink or swim without it.

Mark's answer is so idiotic it's embarrassing.

Israel would hardly engineer things so that Hamas had control of Gaza; Hamas are terrorists and wants to destroy Israel!

The Israelis are terrified now that Hamas is in charge. From Gaza they can launch even more rocket attacks on Israeli citizens and towns.

Clearly Mark would rather blame anyone than the Palestinians themselves. Heaven forfend they should ever have to take responsibility for anything!

The fact is, though, that the Palestinians voted for Hamas in democratic elections. They chose Hamas, even though they knew Hamas was an extremist, terrorist organisation.

They could instead have elected Fatah, who are more moderate and who had already promised to hold peace talks with Israel to try and improve things. But the Palestinians didn't want them and didn't elect them.
