I have a friend that is getting abused physically by her boyfriend. They get in a argument, then he hits her, and then he makes up for it by saying he loves her and by buying her things. The 3 cycles of abuse.
He's now saying he wants to marry her and have kids with her. I know the abuse is likely to get worse then better.
So my question is can a man who hits a woman ever change.

Sadly, in my experience, the answer is no. Refer her to an anonymous line to speak to someone about this and for god's sake get the hell out before she gets pregnant.

In my experience and also being a man can say without being wrong that men and to be more precise grown up people often never change. But if a man or a woman is sensitive he or she can change. It depends on how much a person truely loves a person. If it is just physical attraction a person will never change. But if a person truely loves somebody with true heart then he/she will definitely change.

Hell no. I have never been able to think of a valid reason for any man EVER to hit any woman. It's one of the most despicable things any human can do.

Okay well from me personal.. when i was a little kid i saw my parents fight and make-up.. but its never gonna change! you cant change a person.. tell your friend to get out of the relationship before it gets worse.. convince her into breaking up with him.. b/c she deserves better! no girl deserves to be abused!

Serious counseling or having his hands chopped off. Your friend needs to toughen up and let her boyfriend decide which one he prefers.
