Again it depends what you like. Take-away curries are cheap if you are near the Balti Belt. When I lived in halls a meal was around £3.

About the same as in any student town in the western world.
If you live on pasta with cheap soup very little, it you insist on fresh veg, steak and someone to cook it for you, a lot.
Do your own shopping and cooking and you can have proper meals for a nice price, if you have to eat canteen stuff, buy extra fruit, veggies and sandwich makings and you can still be better of and healthy.
