This issue has nothing to do with population control. It is all about whether the individual wants to take responsibility for her actions (excluding rape and the like). Who are we to decide when life finally matters? If there is any kind of meaningful morality, it would not be fair for us to pick and choose where we want to call something murder. I think it's pretty clear that abortion is "evil."
Those who say that it is better to not exist than to be born into a world where your parents don't want you: this is not for you to decide. Does this mean that all adopted children or orphans wish they were dead? No.
However, I do believe it is ALSO irresponsible for so many people to be having children just because they want them. Consider our current population and the children out there already who are in terrible conditions. Either take one of these or don't have a child at all. Besides, if your happiness depends on a child, what kind of fulfilled life are you living?

"What will we tell future generations about the mass murder of unborn children? "
The world is not a perfect heavenly place that everyone wishes it was. Legalized abortion allows it to be regulated, and criminalized abortion removes regulation, but doesn't prevent it from occuring.
Your parent's generation was smart enough, not to criminalize abortion and allow you to be in the park digging up and illegally aborted and disposed fetus while you were playing in the park.
Sometimes, even with all the "wishful-thinking", the most feasible choice, isn't always the most favored choice.
Use birth control, so you don't have to resort to abortion.
All those babies didn't have to face the temptations in life, and are now with Jesus, hopefully, after you have become a man, accomplished many great things to benefit society, you will choose to be with them in the end.
I don't find it hard at all to explain more logical reasoning to children.

You sound very young and obviously live a very sheltered life. As wrong as it maybe, there are fates worse than death. Life isn't always so black and white and sometimes you have to choose between the less of two evils. ie. God allowed his only son to be sacrificed.
You being so pro life how many children have you adopted? and the death penalty should be repealed? and we should not retaliate against terrorist that blow up or buildings?

Um... dude this world cannot support the growth of people.
It is only natural that life would turn in on itself and slow down reproduction through many different means. Abortion, birth control, condoms, fear of disease, homosexuality...
Its what life has to do to survive.
If you were aborted, well you would have never known it.
But everything happens for a reason and nothing can occur outside of the will of God. Life is slavery. It is a tragedy for the majority of the living. What necessitates this fear of death or the idea that denying life is so aweful. They can live when ever they want to. They, as the energy of the universe, the soul of the unborn child, chose to be conceived into that moment, that circumstance.

God formed us in the womb. A persons lack of belief does not change this. We each have a specific purpose and the thought that the potential star contributors for an entire generation have been murdered so that feminists can irresponsibly utilize abortion as a means of birth control to cover their immature, unwise, life choices is despicable.
The blunt answer to your question is: The last few generations were made of promiscuous sluts that could not keep their legs closed so the Libs decided to legalize murder so that these poor nymphos could continue their perverse lifestyle and weaken our collective gene pool.

They have mass produced such a t-shirt for newborns.
I am appalled about our nation's attitude towards children, in general. I don't think our fore-fathers envisioned us using "rights" as excuses to make our children disposable.
ADDED: Mechbob, it is over 40 million aborted babies since 1973. More than Hitler killed. Cadcommando, I sincerely hope you are including MEN in that "promiscuous sluts" remark. Because I do not share your blame of feminists. I tend to blame the abdication of responsibility by FATHERS. And yes, it's a chicken egg debate, which means it is WORTHLESS in solving the problem. Stay on point.

You do realize abortions happened waaay before Roe v Wade right?
I feel that abortion is wrong and I would never make that choice. But I am happy that women do not have to be forced into abortions or die because of them. It's going to happen one way or the other. Time has proved that and all Roe v Wade did was regulate it, just like any other law.
For the person below me, adult stem cells work much better than embryonic stem cells. We don't need fetuses for stem cells.

You survived because your mother and father wanted you.
If I had been your father I would have drowned you.
no, thats not true.
,
What will I tell my grand children about Darfu where 250, 000 people have been slaughtered and my country did nothing?
.
How will I explain the slaughter of Rawanda?
What do we do about all the women raped?
.
How will I explain 300,000 dead in Iraq?
.
How will we explain how we could stand by while millions of people die every year because they don;t have decent drinking water or enough food to eat?
.
How will my grandchildren pay off the 12,000,000,000 dollar debt my generation is leaving?
.
Answer these questions and Roe versus Wade will seem trivial by comparison. Then again, maybe you think a government has the right to tell a woman what to do with her body?

Until we men grow wombs and bear children men have no say in the matter. This is a medical decision between the patient and here doctor. Religion should teach by persuasion and not by legislation.

We will probably tell them the same thing we tell them about why we killed all those Iraqis and Afghanis.
We were (are) making a preemtive strike against poverty, lack of education, spousal abuse, broken homes, premature death, drug abuse and the myriad of other problems that follow young mothers and fathers who are not ready to have children.
