This site is one in which people share information, experiences, and knowledge. As a bonus, many of us are concerned about misspellings because we care about those who contribute to this site. We know that competition is very intense in this ever-changing world. Incorrect spelling indicates a laziness that will cause the bad speller to lose out to those who take the time to express themselves in an appropriate manner. So, no one should be angered by correction. One can "get away with" bad spelling, but that person will never reach the higher levels in the world of work.

Ignoring problems rarely solves them. I think that if ignorance is deemed acceptable, then the whole of our culture and species and evolution is at a total loss due to lack of interest. That, to me, is sad and unforgivable. All they really have to do on a computer is use the very handy "spell check" feature, which isn't a lot to ask of someone, and most likely will improve them. Especially in the "words and wordplay" section. I think above all other sections, it is appropriate to correct spelling when it is hideously incorrect.

The primary purpose of this site is sharing knowledge. If someone has made a genuine spelling mistake, a polite correction may ensure he doesn't make the same mistake again. In that respect it is a bonus in addition to the answer given to his question.

I am not going to correct all your spelling errors, as they are clearly deliberate.

I was going to say that I like when people give me the corrected spelling, until I realized you were just a flamer.

Typing on this "series of tubes" has really destroyed my spelling. If you see enough people type "rediculous" it starts to seem like a good idea, unfortunately.

Lol. I usually just ignore spelling mistakes because they are just mistakes but some might be nasty about it.
