As we all know, the term "cracker" is referred to as a white person. But why exactly was the old ***** team in Atlanta back then called the "Atlanta Black Crackers"???

The Black Crackers were named after the white minor-league Atlanta Crackers. That team was originally called the Atlanta Firecrackers before the name was shortened. It was common for ***** teams to take the name of the local white team and add the word "black" to the name for their own team (such as the New York Black Yankees, Birmingham Black Barons, and so on).

Who knows? Maybe the owner called them that because he thought they were trying to be white by playing baseball!!!
