How ironic.
Im in the Air Force and used to be stationed at Bergstrom AFB there in Austin back in 1992. There, I turned 21, also.
My day was spent with my military friends around the town. I went to a mall there and bought a stereo. I think it was called Barton Creek Mall?
Across from the mall, there was a creek that people would go and swim in all the time. It was a large swimming hole with a tireswing on a tree. We spent a few hours there swimming.
Then we went bikeriding along the mountain trails just a little further south.
During the night, I went to a strip joint off of Ben White Blvd and had a blast getting drunk and having tons of naked women paying attention to me and giving me lapdances because of my birthday. The owner gave me a bottle of champagne to commemorate the event.
I will never forget it.
There are a TON of things to do in Austin. Hit the clubs on 6th Street and have fun.
Happy Birthday and thanks for bringing back the memories.

If you've never fired a gun go to a firing range. I did that on my 18th B-day. You could go on a trip to Las Vegas or Lake Tahoe unless you want to stay within Texas. Do some dirt biking, quads, ride horses, or learn to do something you've never done that you've always wanted to do. Be adventurous! It doesn't have to be the typical 21st B-day where you get wasted til you pass out or get alcohol poisoning. I wanted to just go to Dave & Buster's for my 21st B-day because I could have a few drinks and I love arcades. It didn't work out but at least I knew what I wanted to do. So, sit & think about it you'll figure it out. Think about what you love to do most or would love to try. Have fun! Oh, & happy early B-day to ya!

Enjoy some hot coco, a blankie, and reading a few verses from the Gospel of John, because if you're actually asking this question, you probably shouldn't be leaving your home on your 21st birthday for fear that you'll actually experience what most of us call "life".
