Start off by accepting that this will be difficult. Still, if you get the right habits in place you'll be able to stay fit for life. If you track your calorie consumption & usage you will understand exactly what's going on and you will become much better at staying healthy. Finally, for all the crazy diet plans out there it still comes down to simple math. No plan will work that has you consume more than you use. Here's how to handle tracking:
Start by assuming you burn 1500 calories a day just for breathing. Then add 600 calories for each hour of exercise (this can become much more refined later). Next, start eating foods from this website http://whfoods.com/foodstoc.php . Write down everything you eat and roughly how many calories were in each item. Subtract the calories burned from the calories consumed. If the number is negative, you'll lose weight. You can use Excel to keep track of everything - if you're interested I'll let you know headings and formulas to set up a spreadsheet.
You'll probably get a lot of advice on this. The best role models will be people that have had a problem with food and have managed to stay healthy for 5 years or more (and aren't selling anything).

First you should see a doctor to make sure you are okay in every other aspect. Your doctor will recommend a proper diet for you to follow and yes, cut out the junk food. Increase your exercise habits of basket ball, running, etc. under doctor's supervision and less computer and t.v. Walking is the best as is hiking and I don't just mean walking around a mall, I mean power walking and Aerobics. Find a sport you like to do the best and make it a routine, but ask a doc first.

I had this same problem. I was 14 and weighed about 150 lbs. I couldn't run for nothing. Then I started slowly.....I began a diet (no fast food, nothing too fatening, not too much soda) and I tried to learn how to run without stopping. At the beginning of the summer, I ran 1/4th around my neighborhood. At the end of the summer, I was able to run around my neighborhood 5 times. You just have to believe in yourself and dedicate yourself to losing the weight. I had lost 30 pounds that summer and looked better and was able to play more sports without running out of breath or nothing. If your new to running, just start VERY slow, and slowly run more and more each night. I used to feel pain after running for a minute, but I ignored it and it went away. I went from running an 11 minute mile to a 7 minute mile. GOOD LUCK!!

stop the salsa and crackers!! You need to eat fruit or vegetables. Spend as much time as you can with a basketball. shoot lay-ups atleast 1 hour everyday. you will then be practicing on your game and skills, and getting plenty of exercise while running to the basket. you can even just shoot baskets by yourself. if you miss, run to get the ball, dont walk to it! Basketball is a great way to loose weight and have fun!!

Try the diet my husband had to do in Marine bootcamp...half a can of tuna plain and one serving green beans or spinach, plus a multi vitamin. This with tons of vigorous exercise and he lost over a hundred pounds in 16 weeks. Yes, he was huge! Over 400 lbs at 18. Good luck to you...I wish you the best!!!!!!!

nicely it is not fairly obese (on the better end of standard)in accordance on your BMI. Loosing some pounds in case you should does no longer kill you yet you're nevertheless surprisingly sturdy. 5"11 is surprisingly tall on your age so it makes it greater ok which you're 166 pounds. in case you have been 5"3 it would be diverse.

A combination of less intake (food) and more output (activity, such as exercise) will do the trick. This is the only way to make meaningful weight-loss goals. Vigorous exercise, such as all-out basketball, also improves the cardiovascular system (heart), but do not go all-out until you have improved your endurance.
