I put the most money I could into an IRA and lived with roommates to cut expenses. Learning to save money early has really helped me, and I plan to retire early. Look up "The Rule of 72" and figure out how much a dollar saved now equals at retirement. I think it was $1 becomes $128 for me!

In our family, we were taught by our parents to save at least half of our salary in our bank savings account. Me and my siblings were taught how to give importance to what we have worked hard and not just spend it into something unnecessary.
