not quite the same thing, but i attend a lot of poker runs for charities. the guy above me scoffing at the old boys in their shiny toys, i have a few words for ya, no insult intended. the guys earned the right to those fancy bikes, and many of 'em have ridden for a lot of years. have you any idea, also, how many of 'em are dedicated to helping out with charities, for local people who've lost everything, or have hospital bills they can't afford to pay, etc? my cousin in San Diego rides in a club that gives away about 3000 bicycles to needy kids every Christmas.

I've been riding for many years and do not like rallys at all. A bunch of 50 year olds who have maybe 2 years of riding behind them with their new shiny bikes and leathers that haven't even wrinkled yet all playing dress up and begging for membership in the I WANNA BE YOUNG AGAIN club. I look at these wanna be's and think if they every really went any where they would probably end up crashing and killing themselves and raising the insurance rates of us who have always been there. I'll just go my own way and if I see them I'll just wave and keep on down the road. They'll scoff me for my old bike with rust and bugs and rubbed off paint from the bungee cords that have held every thing from tents and sleeping bags to home improvement materials from Home Depot. But I'm riding mine, not hanging out at some "see me I'm cool too" rally.

Not crazy about biker rallys, especially when they get rowdy, but I would have stayed for Joan Jett, I've been a fan for many years.

Joan Jett sucked. The Elko Motorcycle Jamboree needs to get better talent.

There was a big biker thing going on up at Yosemite today. There were about 500 bikers there. I wish I could have heard them going through the Wawona tunnel. (That's the tunnell that takes you into the valley floor area. It's about a mile or more long.)
