You should purchase a wireless router, and a wireless network adapter card.

You will connect your DSL modem to the router, and you'll also connect your computer to the router with cables.

You'll have to install the wireless network adapter on the kids' computer. They make it easy these days - you can buy ones that just plug into a usb port, so you don't even have to open up the computer to do it.

Follow the instructions that will come with the router to set it up. It will be easiest if you buy the same brand for both the router and the adapter.

It's a lot easier than it sounds. If you can use Yahoo Answers, you can figure it out, no problem!

Almost all of the above are valid but you have to consider the distance you need to cover to get to your kids machine if it’s close then wired is the way to go. Its way cheaper and easier. Most routers have either more than one Ethernet connection or at least have one Ethernet and one usb you could use either one. If it is say another room altogether or on another level of the house then wireless would be more appealing. This involves a wireless router and an adaptor card of some sort. Also it’s very important to set some level of security on your signal when you broad cast. All wireless routers have some level from WEP to WPA and beyond. The router will come with documentation on how to set this

You need a wireless router. Get wireless-G. Use the encryption. Everyone's got it now. Don't tell the ISP; they may try to charge you more!
