I think that all depends on the type of conversation and the intent of the person calling the chat line.

If its someone lonely and looking to meet new people for friendships, its not cheating.

If its to a singles chat and they are trying to have or having sexually explicit conversation or looking for dates and/or sex then it is cheating.

I would have to say it is.
If your spouse feel its is not, ask him/her how they would feel if they heard their mother or father were calling a chat line.
I wonder what everyone did before computers and cell phones!

I think it depends on your preference in your gut if u feel its wrong and cheating than it is. and if youre asking the question that means you have doubt so i would say yes to you its cheating tell your other to stop doing it

I say YES. There is physical cheating, you know, having sex with someone else, kissing someone else, so on. Then there is emotional cheating, bonding with someone of the opposite sex, trusting someone else more than your own spouse, so on.

it would depend upon who she was talking to and about what, but as a general rule I would be concerned as to what needs of that spouse were not being met
