To tell you the truth, no one will hire a 14 year old .. especially if they don't have any previous job experience. I think you need to ask your parents politely for an allowance. Don't ask for anything outrageous. Save the money that your parents give you each week, so you always have something in your wallet. If they won't agree to an allowance, I would suggest you do some volunteer work in your area. If you have some volunteer experience, you're more likely to be hired when you're 16. I believe the legal age to work is 16, depending on where you live. The reason no one will hire a 14 year old is because it's illegal to give them a pay cheque. Maybe you can babysit for some kids in the neighbourhood, or even your own little cousins. You can shovel snow or mow the lawn for those in your neighbourhood. You can even do the paper route. I know you have a high chance of getting hired there, and you get paid pretty well. Right now, you just have to get as much as experience as you can before you legally get a job. Build up your work skills and by the time you're 16, you will have a higher chance of getting hired at a place than someone who didn't volunteer or build up their work skills. Take it slow and you'll be fine. Take Care.
