do what the doctor tells you and use condoms for the first month.

Sorry, birth control pills don't work THAT FAST. You really can't consider yourself protected until about the 2nd or 3rd month of taking it EVERY DAY.

What do you do? Well, not intercourse, if you are not intending to give birth. We really don't know how these drugs will effect our future health and abilities to reproduce, or cancer risks. (A friend of mine died of estrogen related cancer at age 23)

Abstinence means to "abstain", you know, don't do it. It is the only sure thing and the safest way to stay healthy. Adults who are married, in a permanent relationship are proven to have the best sex, anyway, because they feel more accepted and secure, and less afraid.

Why would you mess yourself up, emotionally or physically, or relationally? That's a lot of unnecessary stress !

Plan B may "flush" what has already begun.
But why would you do that if you are a responsible, loving and caring person, in a permanent stable relationship?
And if you're not???.........

It depends on what state you are in, so you should call your local planned parenthood to find out the details- they are generally very helpful about these sorts of questions. For example, I live in MN, where not only can teens seek out sexual health care confidentially (not even their parents have to know about it), but the state will pay for all of their birth control costs if the make less than $425 a week (and meet a few other qualifications).
