Has anyone been in this similar situation where even until 18th cycle day the test results didn't detect LH Surge and then maybe several days later you ovulated....This is my first month ttc + opk experience and I'm almost giving up because I've been testing for 10 days already......Why haven't I ovulated it? :(

I don't take any medication or pills and I'm quite healthy. I urinate in the afternoon and haven't had liquid for few hours. I'm doing exactly what the instructions say...still nothing...I never really paid too much attention to my body so just confused.....

I'd only like to hear from ladies who've been in similar situation as me....where you actually ovulated late and ended up pregnant....any success or unsuccessful stories, please share...Thanks!

You can use pregnancy tests/strips to predict ovulation??? I thought those two tests are completely different and not to use one for the other purpose.....?

What is your normal number of days per cycle? Are you charting using basal body temp? Are you certain you ovulate each and every month? It's very common to not ovulate, it's called an 'anovulatory cycle'. Google the phrase to learn more about it. Are you noticing cervical mucous? Long, ewey gooey stretches of mucous after you wipe? That's a strong sign of ovulation and peak fertile time. Also helps as a great 'transductor' for the sperm. I went bonkers over the whole OPK/TTC experience for over 3 years including 3 miscarriages and visits to the infertility doctor. In fact, you can find this book rather cheap on Amazon "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" by Toni Weschler. It is highly recommended and considered the bible of fertility and learning your body's fertile signs. Best of luck to you :-)

I never showed a positive on an opk. I stopped using them after a few months of ttc. Not everyone ovulates on a schedule. Try a "fertile Focus" ovulation scope, its cheaper in the long run!

Edit: forgot to say, I am now 24 weeks pg after trying for 18 months!!! and yes, I ovualte late, usually on day 17 or so of a 30 day cycle

Yes, the LH surge happens 24-36 hrs before ovulation. You might just be having an "off" cycle. Everybody has one once in awhile. Keep using the OPK's.

I have been testing for four months. The first two months I did not have a surge and my obgyn told me that more that likely I did not ovulate. The last month I was finally ovulating and my hubby was out of town :(. This month he was home and I had my surge. Try early-pregnancy-tests.com. They are like a dollar a piece if you get the strips. Pregnancy tests are really cheap too. Those are the ones that I been using for two months and they are working for me.

those things are pretty unreliable ... you're better off monitering your basal temp and cervical mucus...
i tried using them for a while and i never did surge... i went to my obgyn and she said that i was ovulating that day and not to use or trust those things... all that time i thought that i wasn't ovulating and she tells me "if you're having your period you're ovulating... so no worries"
good luck and baby dust to you!!
