Let's see,
less than 5% of high school students get to participate in school sports programs.
several important colleges play down sports as significant including MIT.
USC has 4,500+ faculty and 33,000+ students, of which perhaps 500 are involved in college level sports
and YOU want to know if not participating in high school sports when you have straight A's will affect your admission?
What are they teaching in schools about college these days - yeeeeiiiiisssh

College's are more interested in students who are doing activities they enjoy then joining a sports team just to help their college application. Find a couple activities that you enjoy or causes that you support. This will be much more beneficial to your application, then playing a sport. Also, community service is a great idea to supplement not playing a sport. If you show you are responsible and dedicated student then you will have a great shot at getting into a good college.

Absolutely! There is no advantage to participating in sports over any other activity. Sports may be good for you physically, but there are all kinds of other activities which would count equally - theater, music, yearbook, school newspaper, etc.

You have a good shot. Make sure to highlight other school activities.
