Hi all,

I currently have the Yamaha p120 (which has a lot of classical sounds but not synths) but I need to upgrade to a keyboard/synthesizer.

My question is - Is the Korg Triton worth it? Does it have guitar, drums, techno, synth type sounds?

Can I add sounds to it?
Is there anything else you can recommend for less cost?

I know it's a lot of question but please any input will be so appreciated. I'm planning to make my purchase soon!

Thanks so much =)

I don't play keyboards but I've been in several groups that had the Triton as our main keyboard/synth. It's as good as any I've had anything to do with our players were really high on it.

Hey
I have a Triton and many Anologue synths. If its mainly sounds you are after then dont go for the Triton as it has tons of features like sampling and sequencing and thats really what you are paying for. If its just sounds you are after then use your Yamaha (I'm assuming it has MIDI) and get a program for your PC like Kontakt, you can use the yahama to activate sounds on Kontakt (I'm not sure how much you know about MIDI) Plus with Kontakt you can buy a DVD of sounds at a go and they are always developing new ones so you dont get left behing.
If you prefer the keyboards, I recommend the Roland JP8000 for techno as it launched a whole new era of dance and pretty much gave birth to some genres. It doesn't have drum sounds however :(
Good luck!

this is fixable yet you may attempt to do a equipment reset first. The proprietors instruction manual could desire to describe the thank you to try this. this is going to reset the keyboard decrease back to the production unit settings. in case you have no longer have been given the instruction manual, attempt the Korg internet site. If that would not restore it, you will could desire to have it repaired.
