how can u truly tell if a guy is gay and likes u?

he acts like he likes me and stuff, but im scared to ask him if he is gay because idk what he might say and how he will feel about me then...

You're going to have to have some conversation about this. Perhaps you could talk to him about an article you've read about gay people and ask him what he thinks of the topic. Or you could talk about a mutual acquaintance who is gay. Heck, just talk about gay marriage in Massachusetts or civil unions in a nearby state. There's enough public news, you could at least start a conversation.

After you've had a chance to talk to him about such a topic, if he seems open to gay people, you can tell him your own questions about yourself, or you can be a little more sly by saying you think "all people are really bisexual." This sets up a question about your sexuality, but makes it more ambiguous.

Ultimately, though, you are just going to have to bite the bullet and tell him what you're thinking about. If he's mature, he'll at least be flattered. If he's a jerk, he may recoil from you and go spread the story around your neighborhood. Let's hope he's mature and a nice guy.

forget the sit down talks. get in a situation where one of ya'll is shirtless or something, like at a pool and show off and stuff. or joke about skinny dipping or rent Brokeback Mtn and make a bowl of popcorn haha

the only way you will find out if the guy is interested in you is when he actually "hits on you." Don't ask him, just leave it like that and he will give you the hint.
