They have numbers to be sure, but never doubt US technology when it comes to war.

During the Cold War American forces were vastly outnumbered by Russian forces. To counter this, we developed aircraft, tanks, and ships that were designed soley to bring down massed numbers of infantry, aircraft, tanks, and ships.

See the F-15, F-16, F-18 and the F-18 Super Hornet, F22 Raptor, and the F-35 Lighting II. These aircraft are the best in the world in air-to-air combat and in stealth (the F-22 and F-35 out-do the Stealth fighter!).

The M1 Abrams series of tanks has yet to meet a match on the modern battlefield. The series was first introduced in the 1980's, and it wasn't until an extremely powerfull IED was set off in Iraq in 2004 that the first casualty against an Abrams crew was ever made (the driver). Thats including all wars the Abrams has been in (twenty years of action and only one casualty).

Then there is the United States Navy. It hosts the worlds only Supercarrier fleet. Other nations have carriers, but none that can carry the load or have the range of the USN. The U.S.S Ronald Reagan is the largest aircraft carrier in the world, boasting the payload capacity of 80 aircraft. She is only one of eight carriers like her in the world. Its this fleet of carriers that gives the United States the greatest military advantage of any nation on earth, we can have aircraft wherever we need them, whilst other nations must rely on land-based planes or much smaller STOVL aircraft from much smaller carriers (like the British HMS Ark Royal, which carries under 40 planes).

In order for China to catch up to the United States Military, it would have to jump forward a half-century (the amount of time the US has spent more on RND in military projects than any other nation on the planet). They can't catch up, not even with foreign help.

What most of you think you know about China wouldn't fit in a thimble..........I MEAN THAT.

First, China doesn't need to become a super power except with their economy. That is how they will win this game, not through war and expensive hardware to support that. If you don't understand that, go into Wal-Mart, or Macy's for that matter and look at all the made in China labels. Then look under the hood of your FORD.

China is a hell of a lot smarter then all you arm chair generals. They know they can't win in a military fight, but they understand they they sure as hell can win in an economic fight and they ARE DOING THAT RIGHT NOW.

Second:
I want all of you who say China is communist look in a dictionary at the words capitalism and communism. Then explain how China is communist when it is the polar opposite of capitalism. For gods sake, they aren't even socialists because that sure as hell doesn't fit. Nor are they a dictatorship or totalitarian.

Just what are they?

Think people THINK. It's not black and white like all the talking heads and yell radio tells you.

So what is it people? Just what the hell is China doing and why are all of you continuing to think like 1960's cold warriors?

As I said, what most of you know about China wouldn't fit in a thimble.

Time to take off the blinders.

Peace

.

Why? What does it matter whether you trust them or not? What are you going to do about it anyway?

Nothing. You're going to keep buying cheap crap at Wal Mart, all made in China. The president is going to keep putting the country deeper in debt with his "six month, sixty billion dollar" war that he doesn't know how to get out of. The army will go on being tied up in that god forsaken region, wearing out its equipment. And China will go on quietly taking our money and building up its own military.

Seriously, you fools have been voting for this crap for 27 years. What the f*ck are you complaining about? You're only getting what you asked for.

I expect every country to do what's in their best self-interest. It may work out that they end up in a friendly relationship with the USA, or not.

I trust them to look after their own interests. Just as they should think that way about the USA.

they wont. do u realize how much tech they need to make a computer chip. thats they reason theyll alwasy be behind and if miracoullsy they make up 50 plus years of technology and evnetually catch up to us it will most likely be another cold war and in that case they cannot be trusted but i still say it is near impossible for them to catch up

Trust, but verify.

China is advanced enough, and has enough to lose, not to attack us or try to wipe us out. But they will (and do) try to influence world events to their advantage.

Have you noticed how Kim Jong Il hasn't been heard from lately? Guess who told him to sit down and shut up? His nuclear ambitions made China nervous (they're neighbors), so they wacked him with the big stick.

Trust them for now, but sleep with one eye open and a knife under the mattress.

I would be very careful to watch them. Very careful indeed. We don't have many friends in the world, and China had proven to be suspicous in the past.
