I hear that people are going more causal these days to weddings, but I don't want to get looks from people thinking my outfit isn't okay for the event.

Yikes. Sorry but I am a little conservative with wedding outfits. It has to reflect the happiness of the occasion. I was picturing the outfit you mentioned and it did not look happy. Stunning, yes, and perhaps also very eye catching but not for a wedding.

Black velvet can be worn to an evening wedding. Top it with a pretty scarf accesory. Pure black is considered inappropriate. Black and white? The last time I saw one wearing a black and white outfit was a wedding singer who only came for the ceremony. I have seen guests with black outfits but they had good excuses. They were young and poor students and could not afford to buy new outfits for every occasion they have been invited to.
If you are an important relative or friend, it would not matter what you wore. If you find yourself getting stared at, bring a long colorful scarf and tie it on your shoulders and try to blend in anyway.

It depends on the wedding. Personally...I would think that is way too casual for a wedding. That is probably something I would wear to go downtown. I would not want someone to show up in gauchos to my wedding. Ask the bride!

more casual at wedding means that no longer are you required to come like you are going to your formal
the top sounds okay but the khakis - hell no
try the top with a skirt or black pants ... simple but not overall casual - thats the point .

that black & white dress is great, but nothing all black and not that first option. It's hot & casual at a wedding is tacky, but a light colored top & skirt would also work. I wouldn't even wear pants...

hope it helps...

specific, this is greater effective than ideal. merely shop it stylish and sparkling. while you're apprehensive approximately how formal this is going to look, get a blazer to bypass with it. make beneficial rings is stored formal and not costumey, which will help plenty.

it depends, it depends on place and time and theme, and groom and bride, so you may want to ask the bride or host first
