Because I breastfed, I lost weight right away. I was back at my pre-pregnancy weight (135) with my second after only 3.5 months (he's 5 months now). Not breastfeeding, I would have probably have kept on the weight. (I gained about 55lbs)

It is generally advised to commence exercise again when your newborn is 6 weeks old. As it is, I still haven't done any planned exercise and the pounds dropped off. Breastfeeding burns about 200 calories per day.

If you do plan on nursing your baby, you are free to eat what you please, but some babies are sensitive to broccoli, onions, spicy food or chocolate. (Bad diarrhea.) Please know you'll need about 1800-2000 calories a day to keep up supply and nourish yourself. Drink lots of water too.

Be advised, do NOT take anything with an antihistamine in it, like Tylenol Cold medicine or allergy medication, these will dry up your supply.

It will take about 2 weeks to get used to breastfeeding, but hang in there, it's totally worth it. You can't get emotionally closer to your baby any other way other than breastfeeding - not to mention you'll save up to $1000 a year on formula.

When you switch between breast and bottle, your baby gets 'nipple confusion' (they use different jaw muscles while bottle feeding). Pump into bottles and feed your newborn with a bottle only between 2-8 weeks. Any later than 8 weeks and he/she may reject the bottle. Also, the flow is faster from a bottle and your baby may get frustrated from breastfeeding, so you may just want to do it once a day.

On the go: I always breastfeed in the car with a blanket or in the family bathroom in the back of Wal-Mart, or in a changing room in a clothes store. And today I went and saw Shrek with my 3 year old and breastfed in the dark in the theater. It's so handy!

Good luck!

Breastfeeding will help take the weight off so breastfeed as much as your baby wants and the weight will come off. Did you know that just breastfeeding alone burns 500 calories a day? So basically just nourishing your baby with your body means that 500 of your calories go to feeding your little one. And it's the very best food you can give your baby. The weight will come off.

After your baby is a few weeks old you can start working out. Start SLOW and then work up to more and more intense workouts!

I've always liked putting the baby in the stroller and taking a walk.

I started losing weight right after my 6 week check up. Just start eating great and exercising. I don't know any books on the subject, but I know it didn't take me long with my first to lose the weight. It was a little harder with my second, but I got most of it off. Good luck I hope it all works out for you.

Well you are not tooo specified approximately what you're consuming. Roughly what number of energy? If you looking to reduce weight I might goal for 1200-1500 energy an afternoon. Sometimes you'll consume extra, you've gotten the proper to indulge. Just make it an occasional factor.... like a couple of occasions a month. And excersize is fairly the important thing to wasting weight. It appears like you might have converted your health conduct in recent years and feature misplaced a few weight so that is well.. its running. But if you happen to wish higher, quicker outcome your going to have got to exercise extra. Swimming is high-quality! And pace jogging is well too.. even though walking might be excellent. If your now not able to run, you will have to ease your means into it and as soon as you might have shed a bit weight take a look at strolling slightly. Whatever excersize you'll get it's well, attempt to get an hour an afternoon. Don't stop! I've been suffering from my weight fluctuating ever because freshman 12 months, and I believe Im ultimately getting it in combination.

You should be able to start walking right away. Gently. Put the baby in a stroller and go. (Clear it with your doctor first, of course.) Your doctor will let you know when it's ok to start the more active stuff. Breast-feeding will help with weight loss, but don't cut calories too much or there won't be anything left to nourish YOU. Also, get as much rest as you can; sleep deprivation makes many people crave junk food.

I didn't really think about it until after I was done breastfeeding (which actually helps take the weight off just by doing that). You need the extra caleries for the baby when you breastfeed. If you aren't doing that, than I guess you can start as soon as you want to.

I was lucky my weight seem to melt off. Breastfeeding should help. (it definitely helped me) I think you should probably wait 6 weeks before any exercise other than light walking. Give yourself some time to recover from the pregnancy. I am sure you will lose the weight. Just be patient if it doesn't happen as quickly as you would like.

breastfeeding will actually help you lose weight faster!! your body will process the extra fat into milk. You may hold on to 5-10 extra lbs while you are nursing, but when you wean the baby you can lose them quickly. You will be able to work out as soon as your dr clears it, usually 6-8 weeks after birth.
