We are going to Panama City Florida, can anyone help?

We are going to be going to Panama City from June 29th to July 7th. We have never been there. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on restaraunts, entertainment, etc. that you enjoyed there. Do you know if there is any events that might be taking place during that time period? We are staying at a resort on the bay, is there a walk way or anything to get over to the beach or do you have to drive? Any information would be helpful. We are in our mid 30's and our son is 15. We are looking for any info that we could check out ourselves.
