I think borax would make a better roach killer, hairspray would just slow them down.
White Rain and other cheap hairspray is loaded with alcohol that is why we used it as a potato gun propellant on the lake.
So if you want to use hairspray to tease your roaches, buy some that has no alcohol or don't smoke.

I use Clorox spray and that kills the jumbo sized ones! (i live in NYC)

yes, it is...but it evaporates quickly! just don't smoke and spray at the same time. :)
