If you have a car and then replace over time EVERY part on that car, is it the same car?

Would the DMV view it that way? Just curious.

It's still the same car with a stupid driver that could have bought 4 new cars for what he paid in parts and labor to replace all the parts on an old car.

most cars are identified by the v.i.n. in the dash, drivers side near the bottom of the windsheild. every thing else can be changed and it is still the same v.i.n. If you are talking about a wreck, then some d.m.v. require a different title for a wreck that is put back on the road.

cars have id numbers in many spots, not just on the cowl.
newer cars also have them on the frame. any id number change must be changed on the registration and inspected by dmv.
