He doesn't love her, he wants to own her and control her. She needs to get the heck out of dodge and get some help with her drug addiction; that addiction is his control over her, because he doesn't have what it takes to be in her life on his own merit; if he is truly doing these things he should be locked up.

Hi Wild Cherry,
We're sorry to hear what your friend is going through. You have a very valid question that truly deserves a very honest answer.I am a man, and I do understand why a man would do such a thing, even though I never did. The experiences that I've seen in some past friends is that because they were jealous, having a lack of self control with anger, & not having a good self-esteem(very insecure). Regardless of what the girl or woman does, there is no excuse for this kind of behavior. Whether it be yelling, argueing, a look, or further, these should not be as such in a real loving relationship. When these issues are about, it shows that the relationship is sick and needs healing. Please be mindful that when the mind is not sober and thinking rationally, that it's open game by demonic spirits to be lead in doing all kinds of wicked and hurtful deeds.Just look at the actions of people that are alcoholics and drug addicts. I know, I was both.Whether individually or together they need true and sincere healing that only our God can give to them. We encourage you Cherry to pray on this issue. And ask the Lord God for help for your friend. We are praying for her and him as well as all involved in these issues. In His Loving care and Grace, your servants, Chriist, and Pastor B

Men that beat on there women had troubled passes. Thats why its always good to know what a man is about before you get your self involved. Most men just also do it becuase they are punks. Her best option is to come out of the relationship because its not healthy. You also need to help her realize that. It would be best for you to also look at the situation and learn from it, Know that thats not what you want (is a man hitting you). Its just not normal.

Good luck.

There are a number of reasons why a man beats the one he believes he loves. It is mostly about power. If she is not doing or is not exactly the way he expects, then with the teaching that he received as a child, he feels that it is acceptable to beat. When he uses force over words, then he has stepped out of love and into possession and control. It is in your friend's and her mother's best interest to get away. Especially since drugs are also in the picture.

There is something primal about a man beating his woman or his children. Maybe it is a leftover from a time before sophisticated language. It could have been a response to danger. Meaning "do as I say before we all get killed".

But whatever the origin we are past that. We are smarter, better able to communicate and for the most part out of danger. There is no need to express ourselves with our fists against those weaker than us.

Men who take that way of expressing themselves are weak, immature, and scared inside.

I am ashamed for them. I would make it go away if I could. There is no reason for this situation to still exist in our culture.

It is all about control and insecurity on the part of an abusive man. Abusive men can abuse women in more ways than one and it typically escalates to physical abuse. If you have ever been scared by something that left you feeling like you couldn't move or react, like a "deer caught in headlights"...that is what it is like for a woman in this situation. Keep talkin' until someone listens.

I don't care why. If this guy was in the habit on stopping women on the street and slapping them around a little, he'd be in jail. But, somehow, if the woman he's smacking is his wife or girlfriend, all of a sudden the water is muddied. I say treat him like anyone assaulting another person would be treated - send him to jail.

Most men hit women because they are losers. Then you have the other ones who hit women because they don't know any other way to express there feelings, and as for the drugs they keep you on drugs because they know if you stop you will come to your senses and leave them, because you will build your self a stream up and realize they are losers.

there not men there boys and they beat on females cause there not big enough to beat on other men, there pathetic losers. But there are females out there that beat on guys not always the guys beating on the women, and if you know someone who is being beaten by there supposed lover, they either get out of it and if they don't leave them alone and find another friend that won't cry when its happening.

i man who beats can love - he just has a perverted sense of what love is. still, the woman should not stay. he might kill her and if they have children, they can lose their mother. take it from a project girl - if he is beating her and hooking her on drugs he doesnt love her - hes trying to sell her body to make money off of her. ive seen it too many times to count
