Here is an overview
He is seen as a " fresh " face
1)During his seven years in the Illinois state Senate, Obama worked with both Democrats and Republicans to help working families get ahead by creating programs like the state Earned Income Tax Credit, which in three years provided over $100 million in tax cuts to families across the state. YES HELPED TO PRODUCE OVER $100 MILLION IN TAX CUTS IN 3 YEARS IN IL This alone goes against the grain of the typical " tax and spend liberal " label Republicans like to use. Obama also pushed through an expansion of early childhood education, and after a number of inmates on death row were found innocent, Senator Obama enlisted the support of law enforcement officials to draft legislation requiring the videotaping of interrogations and confessions in all capital cases, a move that protects the state from unwarranted lawsuits, and also protects law enforcement .
2) He was urged to run by his constituents and IL state legislative colleagues such as Illinois State Comptroller Dan Hynes
3)I am also tired of all the so called "experienced" ones that have touted their track record. If they were so experienced, they all should have had the balls to stand up and say no when Bush decided to take us to war in Iraq when that country had nothing to do with the attack on this country. Barack Obama has supported the war in Afghanistan but has from the very start said that invading Iraq would be a mistake
4) Since he has been in the Senate, he has not sat on his laurels. He has been bipartisan and has sponsored 152 bills and co-sponsored another 427 with Senators from across the aisle
I just think the country needs a new direction and we don't need clones of the same people we had around since the 1980's Bush/ Clinton/Bush/ Clinton?Bush clone wannabes. I think not

Although I am Black, American & female, I will not be voting for Barack Obama, due to the fact that he beats around the bush too much. One issue that I totally disagree with him on is in regards to that ridiculous "amnesty" bill. He stated that the American people would not mind accepting 12 million illegal immigrants as citizens as long as the government has plans to seriously build the fence that was promised. I believe he is totally wrong on that. American citizens want a fence, but we don't want to reward illegal aliens for committing a crime. That is why I have decided to vote for Ron Paul. He is the only candidate that is against the "two" major issues that bother me... the war in Iraq (where my 20 yr old son just so happens to be) & illegal immigration (where he promises to have "no" amnesty, he will put a stop to birth-right citizenship (no more anchor babies) & he will take away all benefits from illegal aliens... See for yourself...

Instead of listening to some of the Bozo's here, read Obama's book, THE AUDACITY OF HOPE. It will inform you of everything he believes in. You can find it at the library or on eBay for a lot less than it will cost you at a bookstore. I enjoyed reading it.

I wouldn't worry about him too much, Hillary is very busy trying to pull the rug out from under him so she can get the black vote. It does seem like he gives a more honest answer than
Hillary does

- Socialized health care (which would cost taxpayers trillions)

- Amnesty for Illegal immigrants (though to his credit stiffer penalties for employers hire illegal immigrants)

- Against voter "verification" which would make the billions of illegal votes that favor liberals more difficult to come by.

He lacks experience (who cares so did Regan), He is very charismatic, but there are defiantly valid questions about his potentially racist beliefs.

You - and about 150 million other liberals! No one knows much about his positions , he has not given any. that is why he is so popular. you cant disagree with a guy who has not expressed an opinion. So, vote for him (if you really wanna) and cross your fingers!
